A Rocky March At Hogwarts

Alas, March has been a tough one for this little Gryffindor. The passing of my MIL, changes on the farm, grades, and end of quarter have all kept my knitting time to a minimum...and to make matters worse, I didn't even really feel like knitting. Not a good sign for me. Here is one of my completed objects...the others were mix and match dish cloths and socks which I couldn't even seem to count the stitches correctly.

The Great Pumpkin Bread Recipe

I love this bread...please consider a can of cream cheese frosting to spread on each slice...yum! Cream together: 8 oz package of Philly Cream Cheese (softened) 3/4 cup butter (softened) Add in: 3 3/4 cup granulated sugar 6 eggs 1 can (29 oz) of canned pumpkin Stir in just enough to moisten: 5 1/4 cup flour 3 teaspoons Baking Soda 3/4 teaspoon Baking Powder 1 1/2 teaspoon Salt 2 teaspoon Cinnamon 3/4 teaspoon Cloves Optional: 1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Turn into 3 loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees F for 60-70 minutes until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Remove to rack to finish cooling. Yield: 3 loaves

The winter hours have the visitor's center closing at 4pm...which was fine. Rick only wished he had changed into his hiking boots and left the cowboy boots at the Caliber. That ice was slick! (PS...it was absolutely amazing that the next day I could get back the hat that fell out of the car when we had our photo taken. Thank you park service lady!)
