Surprise...Vacation!

When the hubby says, "We hit green...if we are going to go, we need to do it now," well, we pack quickly! I had been thinking we would go to mine sapphires, but instead, we ended up at Many Glaciers...and it was fun!





We were told we literally were given the last room at the Inn...so we splurged. (Top floor...viewing the lake...no elevator, but well worth it!) It was magical to view the reflection of the mountains on the lake, but even better to view it at night...sorry, the digital wasn't able to capture that lighting.

Just Hillary Pay Down The Debt Received

Thank you Abycat! Girl, you brought me to tears...in a good way. Your kindness is appreciated...we certainly share more than just our political tendencies. The SWTC Bamboo yarn is amazing...I never knew it would be so heavy...I love it! Yes, MDF, it is a beautiful purple...and it is mine.

Look closely at the photo...do you see the adorable little crochet hook? How about the sweater key chain? I am going to be selfish and keep the chocolate tea...I never even knew they made that flavor! My only wondering is what are the foam thingies for? I was thinking of using them to mark my knit pick circulars...but I doubt that was their original occupation.

Sock Put Progress

Don't look beyond the sock...cuz that only shows you what I should have been doing. Here is the progress on Hedera by Cookie A. and sock yarn by CastleFibers. That Give Em Hill Colorway is beautiful!

I also realized I had not shared my stuff from the fair. Delaney had to enter them for me...I was in Seattle. Here is Paula's scarf using the Mountain Colors Sunburst yarn. How appropriate for a girl from Sunburst!



And I can't forget to thank my Gryffindor Swapper...I'm sorry I was late with the post, but finding everything after coming home has been interesting. I love the book and the yarn!

Fair 2008

Delaney took Lightning to the Shelby fair and just barely missed getting a steer of merit classification. (Barely means calculated to the hundredths place...wow.) Al's Diesel of Cut Bank was the winning bidder...Thank you!




Garrett's steer, Thunder, was purchased by Stockman's Bank of Cut Bank...Thank you! He will miss this steer.

Summer of Socks #2

Here is the second pair of socks for my Summer of Socks. These are made of SRK On Your Toes with Aloe Vera...nice! I used size 2.75 needles, toe up, and magic loop.

Newness all around!

The end of the school year has brought about a few changes in our lives. Last Saturday, we traded in the 2002 Dodge Ram Pickup for a 2007 Dodge Caliber. The savings in gas mileage is already evident!






I also have a new pair of socks...Way cool Fawkes made with lisabeedesigns' yarn...yum!

There are 22 fantastic young adults ready to graduate this coming Sunday...amazing. Garrett's photo is on the top...can you find it? He is also on the Skills USA for welding, and Delaney is on the Red board...just with the back of her head to the camera. She makes it tougher to get a candid shot of her!

Sixteen years ago, my little baby girl was brought into the world...my how time flies. She gets to pick how her day goes, but I do know we have pork chops for supper! I'll post photos upon our return!

What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child?

I'm still a Looney Tunes kind of a gal. Marvin the Martian, Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, Foghorn Leghorn, Pussy Foot, Peppy LePew, and all the rest. I have some of these as rubber stamps...I need to find those!

Soup

Pretend you are about to get a new pet. Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I heard a phone number for a Scottish Fold kitty...and I wrote the number down. No, I'm not getting a kitty...but Simba is about 14 years old (not kitty age), and Sandy is 12.5 in human years, not doggie years. The hubby just isn't an indoor animal kind of guy, so the 3 indoor animals are maxing his capacity!

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?

Oh, I will give that a positive 2! I like comfort too much to be in fashion.


Main Course

What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?

Road Music of course! Southern Country/Rock and or something with a fast pace beat. I don't drive slow.


Dessert

When was the last time you bought a clock? And in which room did you put it?

My last clock purchase was due to an electric problem which caused all the electric clocks on the East side of our home to fry. That was 3 new digital radio/alarm clocks as well as a new stereo...pricey!

Great Falls here we come!

Tomorrow we have a lot to do once we hit 'town'. First, I will be getting 4 by 6 prints of this photo announcement. Then there will be graduation supplies as well as Birthday supplies for Delaney. The silly girl has only mentioned that she needs new 3 ring binders.

On a bummer mode, Dad is spending the night in the hospital in Missoula. They have ruled out heart problems...but now they are trying to see where the pain in his back and arm could be coming from. This really could mean that my trip will be to Missoula instead of Great Falls.

Socks for Tonia

My sil, Tonia, has earned her own pair of hand knit socks...but she really didn't have to go to the extreme measure of fighting cancer...I would have gladly knit her a pair without that step. Of course, my next project is a little more 'personal', but if you swing by Knitty and check out the archive, you will find a very handy object for others who have battled this beast.

Tonia, may these socks give you hugs during and after your treatments...we love you!

Wee Tiny Sock comes to Montana!

Can you believe how lucky I am? I was lucky enough to have been matched up with Paula for the Hot Cocoa swap AND for the Wee Tiny Sock swap! Isn't this sock cheerful? Currently, it is dressing up the lapel of my black wool pea coat. Sure, the calendar tells us it is Spring, but in Montana, that just means it is time for another snow shower. (Really, tonight is the prom for the high school kids, so just in time we have a blowing and drifting snow watch. Fancy dresses with open toe shoes...with drifts of snow. FUN.)

UM - Helena

We arrived at the UM College of Technology in Helena so the kids would be able to view their future school. Ledge had already received his acceptance letter, but Garrett's wasn't received until we got back home to Chester. They both took the entrance test, then we headed for a tour of the 2 main buildings. LOL...this didn't take very long at all! The second building had more of what the two seniors were looking for...Tools!



At the Airport campus, Garrett was able to check out the Welding, Ledge got the Diesel Mechanics, and they also checked out the airplane mechanics, as well as the machinery classes. Wow...this could be fun.

The bookstore could use some expansion, although I found some really sweet pens for the kids.

Wee Tiny Sock Swap 2008

The first sock is using Kroy sock yarn, while the others are using my pattern and some of the Mountain Colors yarn I adopted. I managed to get another complete sock out of the MC...I just love that stuff!





Yep, I joined, I knit, and on Monday, I send! I'll upload the sock as soon as I find batteries for my camera.
