So...do you think it is safe to post dear son's Christmas gift here? I guess I will find out if he reads it or not!

Surprise!

Lesa is amazing! She was my JH swap partner...which means I've been lucky twice. Lesa is a teacher also...did you notice the book, poster putty, and hand sanitizer? The Kisses will be put to good use. I had purchased some to bake into peanut butter cookies, but my family ate them first. Now I have some they don't know about...I can do stealth baking!

Then the yarnie stuff...wow! I love the needles, and I didn't have that size...you rock! Galway is a wonderful yarn...I think it will become some of Alice's New Moon Mitts. The bag will become an emergency knitting case...with the Knit Picks Dakota yarn being the first part of the kit. I'm in love with the Baby Alpaca Grande Hand Dyed yarn...it is so soft and beautiful. I need to find the perfect project for it!

Thank you, Lesa...I'm very lucky to call you my friend.

Oh...I can't forget the Christmas card either...I now have stamps so mine can go out soon!

Someone will be getting a Mountain Colors Cap (knit with two strands of this glorious yarn) for Christmas. It will help keep a loved one warm!

This should help keep me warm!

Transfiguration Homework!

When my boy was a baby (19 years ago) I purchased this yarn...I would tell you what the yarn was, except there was free jewelry if you sent a specific number of labels back to the yarn company. I loved this blue...but as I was knitting on my sweater, I wasn't certain I had enough to finish it...so I decided to transform it into a hat!

Becoming a hat!

Astronomy - Mayan Influence

Blocking - it is tougher here at the apartment!

A closer view of the beauty of the waves! Size 7 needles - Mountain Colors Blue Frost Bearfoot yarn.

The ancient Mayan culture reminds me of the blues and green tones combined with the shape of the edging.

Hat #8!

Hat number 8 of 10...so I am 80% done with my OWL! This is made from Lamb's Pride Worsted using Pine Tree and the pattern Hurricane.

Happy Birthday to a fabulous MIL!

We met up at Dunkirk for dinner...and a bit of a party. There wasn't a band but we still had a good time!

I'm closer to my goal!

Hurricane (pattern) in the Caribbean (yarn color)...and one more present!

This yarn was a gift from my JH buddy, Lesa...aka Mollyknits. Isn't she the best?! The pattern is the Yarn Harlot's Unoriginal Hat...sweet!

October HPKCHC is complete!

OWL - hat number 5 of 10...sweet! This version uses a size 8 needle for the top section of the hat, and only 3 repeats of the pattern instead of the 4.

Is it an ear warmer...

or a cowl!
